On Friday evening, I had the pleasure of speaking on Swirl Radio, a weekly radio program about LGBT issues. The topic of conversation? President Obama’s “It Gets Better” video.

I felt bad that I was speaking on a show I had not heard of, but now that I’ve listened to a few episodes, I have to say that it’s a great show, and Michelle Meow is not afraid to dig into the issues! Swirl Radio can be heard in San Francisco, Seattle, and Boston as well as online, so check it out!

While I’m writing here, I also want to encourage everyone to check out Kerry Eleveld’s View from Washington for this week. She really brilliantly connects a lot of the news around Don’t Ask Don’t Tell with the President’s recent musings but inaction on LGBT issues:

But until this week, the president seemed mostly oblivious to the present-day equality movement staring him in the face – unaware that he and his administration are standing as an impediment to freedom’s progress through their inaction on so many fronts.

Use the widget below to listen to the October 23rd episode of Swirl Radio. The discussion starts at 20:39 with Todd Heywood of the Michigan Messenger. (I met Todd at Netroots Nation and he’s really a brilliant and insightful reporter; I was honored to “share the stage” with him on this show.) After a few other segments, my appearance picks up at 35:10. Enjoy, and thanks for the opportunity to speak out Michelle! I hope it’s not the last!

By the way, how sweet is this?

Zack is one of my favorite bloggers and that’s because he just says it, and he means it, and he just gets it out of the way without apologizing.

Thanks Michelle!
